NastyFlytrap Posted November 11, 2024 Report Posted November 11, 2024 I know it says it 'repairs it', but does it only let me pick up the clutter, so i can put it back down in the exact same form, or does it transform a broken chute, or a bed, into its usable variant? 1

I am afraid it's currently the former. I don't know any mod either, that would add this functionality. I suppose as a workaround you could "repair" those items and give yourself a working match via console command/creative inventory. Edited November 11, 2024 by Brady_The 1 1

Echo Weaver Posted November 12, 2024 Report Posted November 12, 2024 Yeah, I turned off the glue mechanic in world config. I think the idea is to make the aged clutter harder to obtain -- that's the kind of extra challenge that might be interesting if I got bored with the current challenge. I haven't played nearly enough for that. As it is, just FINDING the clutter is plenty exciting. I would be super delighted to see a mod that allowed glue to fix actually broken things. And maybe glue solvent to take wallpaper off walls.

I am not sure why finding clutter is exciting, although i do enjoy exploring the ruins, particularly the ones underground because those have some substance to them. Also, i wish the glue mechanic would outright repair the items. Getting aged chandeliers and chutes, and beds, ladders, whatever else, for the monumental effort that collecting all that charcoal and resin is, would be neat. 1

I'm not a builder in the sense of folks posting pictures of amazing block sculptures on this and other forums. I build functional homes that contribute to my immersion in the world. A piece of cool decor found while exploring is a kind of trophy that adds both character and a sense of achievement to my base. Functional stuff is better, but decor definitely has its place. It ticks me off that you can't remove wallpaper without a mod (or does glue do that? That seems counter-intuitive, but I haven't tried it).

As far as i know, it doesnt let you remove wallpaper, which is a real shame. For that i might even do it. 1
