DirtyLeftBoot Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 Hello all. I have a single player server that I've sunk about 16 hours into with about 15 mods, most being QoL. Today, my friend got the game, so I hosted a multiplayer server after turning off all but about 2 of the mods so I could introduce them to the game. After playing for a couple hours, we got off. I turned my single player mods back on and tried to boot it up, but it's now not loading. It gets stuck cycling from 'It pauses...' through 'It sighs...' every 5 minutes. I'm not sure what to do here since the server has been played with these mods for 16 hours so I don't think I can just turn them off and try to boot up. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm playing version 1.19.8 and all mods should be up to date. I've been looking through the game files but don't know what I'm looking for and nothing has stood out.
LadyWYT Posted December 9, 2024 Report Posted December 9, 2024 It sounds like something in the world files got corrupted; that's one of the hazards of uninstalling mods mid-playthrough, even if you re-enable them later. The easiest solution is to start over with a new world with however many mods you want, and then stick to those settings for that playthrough. It does suck to start over from scratch, but sixteen hours isn't a lot of playtime either, so it should be relatively easy to catch back up on the progress you made in the old world.
DirtyLeftBoot Posted December 9, 2024 Author Report Posted December 9, 2024 I actually just got it working. No idea what fixed it, but I unchecked the mods that don't have an effect on world gen and tried to load the game. It loaded so I then left and rechecked them 1 by 1. Now I have them all on again and it loads. No idea why that worked but I'm glad. I really liked this playthrough and would have been upset if I had to start fresh. 1
