quick guide on how to use land claims in Vintage Story, and it takes under 1 minute and 30 seconds. It’s easy to follow and designed for new players, with no stops or distractions 😇

Commands :
1. /land claim new ( opening )

2. /land claim start ( first corner )

3. /land claim end ( second corner )

4. /land claim grow up *number*  ( cover are above )

5. /land claim grow down *number* ( cover are under )

6. /land claim add ( if is green - you are on good path if is red someone have already land claim near that area )

7. /land claim save *name* ( you are done )

8. /land list ( for more info about your claims. )

Happy New Year 2025!

How do you use this to modify an existing claim.   If I use /land load 0, it will bring in the claim in green but I can no longer modify it.

well yea, you need to remove whole land claim :D and start over if you want expand your land claim

For adding onto existing claims, it's pretty clunky, you don't have to start over, you can do /land claim load (id), /land claim start then /land claim end followed up by /land claim grow (direction) (number of blocks) then end it off with /land claim save (id). It'll look weird because there'll be multiple squares of claimed land, but it all falls under one claim id, and for claim granting, you need to run /land claim load (id) then /land claim grant (player) (permissions), for permissions you'd typically do "all" unless it's a public store or something like that, you can do "all" for the player section of the command I believe, which would tie into making a store or something like that, but once you've done all that, just do /land claim save (id). In my opinion the land claim commands are pretty bloated and a bit annoying to work with.

I’m guessing removing those squares from existing claims is not possible. Is that correct?

To my knowledge? No, but I don't think it's necessary? In my experience it seems to function like one giant claim regardless of those squares, besides, it shouldn't be a bother, after all! It'll be invisible while you're not editing your claims.
