  1. The queue is not as major an issue as may be portrayed. You can join the queue earlier in the day, do some work, eat some food, etc. Then come back and wait a little bit till you’re in. Though ppl with poorer internet connects may certainly have issues. Queue has been decreasing however since launch and can get into the 40s-60s at certain times of day. It’s important to look at playing on TOPS as a pastime and not an integral part of life.
  2. Major recent stuttering I’ve noticed is that of the chat moving on servers. I’ll note that I use RTSS to limit and sync my framerate in vintagestory. This is partly because the vs vsync option greatly lowers my fps, partly because it doesn’t make the game much smoother. I've got an all AMD system as well and I’ve definitely seen such stutters before, but I don’t think I have them at current. Perhaps due to my use of RTSS, perhaps some other change on my pc.
  3. what are you trying to show here? Probably that blue clay shows up as slightly bluish on the colored map. But especially on 1.22 and beyond I would not be staring at the map all day. The paper map is default and blue clay is a rare type of clay now. For finding clay I’d suggest exploring a lot and training your eyes for the color of clay in your surroundings. Zooming out in third person can help get a wider view of your surroundings. Mainly however, explore.
  4. One word of advice, if you make something and dislike it so much that you decide to move, don’t. You picked that original spot for a reason and moving is so incredibly hard without near end game materials. I bring in friends to get their opinions on what to add/change when I’m unsure. Also as many ppl have said above, plan stuff out on paper and look for inspiration
  5. If it’s anything like blocks it’d be /giveitem <item> <amount> s[] getting the item names is annoying though
  6. Wouldn’t changing graphics and keybinds break being able to do this?
  7. Most annoying thing that brings up the account login is when you play vs on two different devices
  8. @Mrozak How much did setting optimize ram to (presumably) 0 improve performance? I assume it helps most with reducing stuttering also how much ram do you have?
  9. If you have rotting food, little tip here, the animals will still eat it and if I remember correctly, no animal will eat parsnips.
  10. There’s a lot to this, so I’m probably forgetting something. Support for touchscreen and trackpad specific actions would be good (In my opinion) for use when sitting down and crafting or managing the inventory. I think it’d be helpful for those slower parts of the game and may even speed up some of those parts a little. I don’t cover as much on the trackpad and there’s always more that can be added, so feel free to suggest. (I initially drafted this up not as a forum post) The game has little/no support for trackpad gestures. The most prominent being changing map scale by pinching. For touchscreen support it is better, but what makes it awkward is moving items about in the inventory. My best suggestion for this is a touchscreen mode option which would allow for: 1. When you touch on an item, then drag it to another slot, the item is put back down. This option should wait a little bit before placing the item if another item is not interacted with. The waiting is done to allow for spreading the item across slots. (the picking up and dragging already works, the item just is not put down automatically) 2. Double tapping on an item stack to collect all similar items into it (if not full). Would make collecting your spread items much more pleasant. (Similar interaction with mouse should be a thing) 3. Dragging an item stack out of the inventory and releasing will throw it. 4. Tapping on one item stack, then tapping on another will switch the item stacks. 5. holding down on an item stack will slowly take items from it or if the item stack is held, will slowly deposit items from it. 6. Prefer showing item tooltips above item stacks (considering the angle at which one views the screen from when using a touchscreen)
  11. Ok, worked for my device (running cachyos)
  12. - Fov Has a linear feeling impact on fps, would recommend lowering last. Helps to a point. - View distance View distance has a fairly large impact on overall fps, if you crank it up really high. If getting low fps at low render distances it’s more likely however that animals are what’s tanking your fps, not view distance. - AO + Smoothlight Leave this on, there should be virtually no effect on your fps if disabled. - Waving Foliage Foliage has a low fps impact in small amounts, but this can quickly become problematic with large amounts of foliage. - SSAO Has a small impact on visuals at higher values, so I’d recommend setting it lower anyway. In my experience it doesn’t have as great of an fps impact, but it also doesn’t do much visually. - Shadows Going above medium/high has diminishing visual returns for the fps impact. Shadows can have fairly good performance at certain times of day and terrible performance at other times. If your fps is suddenly dropping around morning and evening shadows are likely the cause. - Resolution Has a decent effect on fps. This setting is likely intended for higher end hardware. Lowering it will give a small fps boost on most hardware with diminishing returns the lower you set it. - Max FPS Set this to 5 fps over your monitor refresh rate. No sense in uncapping it. - Vsync mode Set this to off (will explain what I use further on) - Occlusion culling Enable this. For the following settings I cannot say too well how they affect fps. You’ll have to go off what the tooltips say for these. Chunk upload rate limiter Optimize ram Particles Dynamic Lights Foam and Shiny Effect Bloom God Rays FXAA - Hardware/driver tweaks Make sure you know what you’re tweaking! Especially with bios settings! On my system I have gone and enabled resizable bar, additionally in the drivers I have enabled vsync. I have Radeon graphics and use the wait for vertical sync option set to always in the drivers. I do this since I’ve noticed an fps drop with the ingame vsync options, this also syncs better than the ingame vsync for me. Another thing that can be done is force enabling freesync if your monitor supports it. XMP (intel) and EXPO (AMD) are also things to look at in the bios, I unfortunately do not have these options. A bios option I am less sure the impact of is disabling TPM, I had to do this either way for enabling reBAR support. (Here’s an interesting mod if anyone thinks it’ll help their situation https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/27133) Just adding this here, when tweaking performance I’ve been trying to maintain good visuals at high fps, even if the fps suffers a little from that. Am welcome for other people to put their experience with intel and nvidia hardware, bios settings, and the additional settings I didn’t have much to comment on. Of course if you’d like to add something about the other settings, do so.
  13. You’d have to run a server on a separate device. Or buy a server
  14. There are papyrus skeps now
