Creekat Posted January 16, 2025 Report Posted January 16, 2025 The lever hammer forges as it should, but when finished, the piece stays on the anvil, and does not fall out. When you try to pick it up, it falls out (unfinished workpiece). And if you do not pick up the workpiece and try to adjust something with a hand hammer - the product returns to its original form (unfinished workpiece).
LadyWYT Posted January 16, 2025 Report Posted January 16, 2025 Welcome to the forums! The helve hammer should kick the finished ingot/plate off the anvil once it finishes. Are you using any mods that affect smithing? Outside of a mod causing issues, the only other thing I can think to check is to make sure that the workpiece is hot enough to be forged. If it's too cold, the helve hammer will still hammer on it, but won't actually accomplish anything.
garyoak Posted January 25, 2025 Report Posted January 25, 2025 Im getting the same issue as Creekat. Helve hammer is hammering away the chunks and working the bloom into an ingot, but once the ingot is formed, it stays on the anvil instead of popping off. And when i pick the "complete ingot" off from the anvil, it turns into a partially worked on bloom. Here's my modlist. garyoak Posted January 25, 2025 Report Posted January 25, 2025 (edited) found the issue - when i replaced my transmission with a regular axle, the helve hammer worked as intended. anyone else noticing the same issue? not sure if its because of some weird mod interaction but i highly doubt it. edit for context my windmill setup consists of a floor dedicated to transmissions and clutches that lead onto separate rooms with querns and helve hammers. after testing by replacing the transmissions in the control room with axles, putting the transmission right next to the helve hammer, the issue was resolved! Gazz Posted October 22, 2025 Report Posted October 22, 2025 (edited) @garyoak I'll be damned but... that worked! (game version 1.21.1) I had a setup with 4 helve hammers side by side and only one of the 4 anvil spots would ever complete an item, no matter how often I disassembled and rebuilt any of the hammer parts. Not a mod issue because then none would ever complete. Took out the transmission and replaced with an axle. Everything worked. Took out the one axle and replaced it with a transmission... NOW it all worked. Many thanks for... whatever that was! =P Edited October 22, 2025 by Gazz 1
Ragnar1941 Posted November 28, 2025 Report Posted November 28, 2025 I had the same trouble but fixed it. the axle was bugged and appeared like it was working as normal even though it wasn't connected to the windmill. one angled gear was bugged but when broken and put again the helve hammers started working again. 1
