doomstrike53 Posted March 28, 2025 Report Posted March 28, 2025 Recently started playing with some people in multiplayer, but it's hard to keep track of where everyone is when they disappear off the map after a certain distance. Is there a way to not have that happen, like a group invite or mod or something?
Cowabunga1 Posted March 28, 2025 Report Posted March 28, 2025 Also interested in an answer for this. Posted a similar question a few weeks back but haven't had any reply as of yet. Do hope there is a way to remove the view distance limit on player icons. https://www.vintagestory.at/forums/topic/14627-server-map-sharing/
Maelstrom Posted March 28, 2025 Report Posted March 28, 2025 I think it's a setting the admin sets when creating the world. But with no experience in such things, I could be horrifically (pardon the pun) wrong.
Nugut Posted October 1, 2025 Report Posted October 1, 2025 Hey found a solution Next to the server config file is "servermagicfiles.json" in there one of the first lines is "Default entity tracking distance" that's the player distance and the number is the ammount of chunks basically set it to something really high like 100 or so and it should work nearly cross map
