Broccoli Clock Posted April 1, 2025 Report Posted April 1, 2025 Was underground, ran into a large Locust spawning region. Ok, I can do this, and yes, I did it. I cleared it out, with lots of dead locust bodies around. However, I then got a bunch of drifters attacking me. Fine, I'll repeat the process. No, sadly not, because your attack is stopped by the Locust body, while the drifters' attack is not. I ended up in a cramped location, with a pile of Locust bodies next to me, a number of drifters blocking a exit, but I couldn't hit them with either a spear or a falx. This is not a problem for the drifters though, they seem capable of hitting through Locusts. As there is no way to harvest/remove Locusts, and because they hamper CQC, could they either disappear a few seconds after death, or allow us some way to remove the bodies. 8
LadyWYT Posted April 1, 2025 Report Posted April 1, 2025 Better yet, instead of just making them disappear, add a death animation so they can fly apart into pieces when you hit them. No need for collision on the pieces, since they can just disappear when the animation is over. 8 1 1
D3K01 Posted April 7, 2025 Report Posted April 7, 2025 i like the idea of making them a gatherable item. they're made of bronze and whatnot so have them gatherable where you can pick them up with a net or something and then after sealing them in a barrel of Limewater have them release bronze nuggets, so it's worth considering whether or not to destroy the locust nests for items or farming them for unlimited metals. 2
TheRealMork Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 (edited) Sorry for the reactivation of that 1 year old suggestion, but I totally agree on this. Whatever the solution, disappearance or destructible: those locust corpses really need to be getting rid of. The other enemies can disappear completely by looting them, the locusts should have a way to be removed too. Currently, they really can get in the way of players and monsters alike. Cedric the Silent Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 Just noticed a new mod came out today a few hours ago called locust harvest that lets you get tin bronze from them and making their bodies disappear after harvest. Weird timing that is I wonder if the creator of the mod read the post on this topic and felt the same. 1
