pixeledom Posted April 7, 2025 Report Posted April 7, 2025 Is it impossible to place a brake and a transmission vertically? I've built a rather complex mechanical power system that relies on me being able to cut power vertically, but it seems like this is impossible. Is it a bug, or is it a deliberate choice by the developers? I can't see it being the latter, tbh. Is there anything I can do about it (maybe using mods), other than rebuilding the entire project?
WiggleStick Posted April 7, 2025 Report Posted April 7, 2025 I ran into this and put the transmission on the horizontal shaft under the floor and used a trap door to access it. You can't use it upside down either so you need to put it on a shelf of some sort.
Solution Thorfinn Posted April 7, 2025 Solution Report Posted April 7, 2025 (edited) Welcome to the forums, @pixeledom Until this is addressed, just skip the transmission and use an axle block. When you don't want that piece of equipment running, remove it and place it somewhere handy so you can put it back when you do need it. Edited April 7, 2025 by Thorfinn

Did you ever figure out a way to place them vertically? If not, I will update the wiki. I just ran into the same thing on a super complex design.
