Maelstrom Posted July 28, 2025 Report Posted July 28, 2025 I will agree that it is poor execution.  Perhaps leaving the carcass to become infested with flies would work better. Â
ILoveBushy Posted August 10, 2025 Report Posted August 10, 2025 Besides the bones this looks really nice, i would put some decorations to the are in the second photo so it feels more alive tho :3
Krougal Posted August 10, 2025 Report Posted August 10, 2025 Nice Romanesque looking build, I dig it. Not necessarily.  Every single time I've had forest floor, the wolf spawns stop after I deforest the area. Usually to remove the non-resin bearing trees and denude the pine trees to make the resin more obvious when I visit for a harvest.

It supposedly doesn't work that way. Although the wiki is not infallible for sure, and my own personal experience, I cannot say with any kind of certainty either way.
Maelstrom Posted August 12, 2025 Report Posted August 12, 2025 I hope my indication I was speaking from personal, anecdotal experience came through.  One world I had constant wolf howls throughout the summer and first winter despite depopulating the wolves multiple times.  Clear cut the forest, as described, and for the remainder of that world (I believe another in game year and a half) there were no more wolves spawned.  Same has happened whenever I've forever homed near a wolf spawning forest and lived there multiple seasons pre and post deforestation.
yanlong Posted August 14, 2025 Report Posted August 14, 2025 I have a question, if the animal's bones are not cleared. Will animals continue to rise in this place?

Maelstrom Posted August 14, 2025 Report Posted August 14, 2025 But those bones could prevent anything from spawning there since the air block would be occupied. 1
ijkdenem Posted August 14, 2025 Report Posted August 14, 2025 freaking amazing job you guys. i just love how much customization this game gives you.

I haven't looked at the code to be sure, and so I am going off the wiki (which, other than the math seems very off in any pages with it, the information otherwise seems good) says that it is forests in certain temperatures that makes wolves spawn. All the animals have certain terrain/temperature requirements. My own observations tend to agree with the wiki. Pretty much if you see a certain animal in a certain spot, you can be sure they will spawn around there again. Even if you cut all the trees down and dig up the ground, that area is still considered forest.
MCDungeoneer Posted August 16, 2025 Report Posted August 16, 2025 I'm sorry good Vintarian, but the bones can't be ignored! What is going on Jokes aside, this looks sick! Â
