Sabine Foster Posted August 12, 2025 Report Posted August 12, 2025 Still playing in my old 1.19.7....I have never been able to craft pumpkin seeds from pumpkins. According to the wiki it should work by just putting a pumpkin in my crafting grid? Nope!
Maelstrom Posted August 12, 2025 Report Posted August 12, 2025 I believe you need a knife, but it may be a specific spot to place the knife so you don't get squash chunks. Check the handbook, it should be in there how to get seeds. 1
Krougal Posted August 12, 2025 Report Posted August 12, 2025 Just a whole pumpkin, and it's shapeless. Unless it was added in a more recent version. I don't do pumpkins very often, I mean I will plant them if I find them, but I don't really go out of my way to get them.

Checked the handbook and it doesn't mention anything. Whole pumpkin doesn't work either. Maybe it really was added in a more recent version...but I've been trying to make seeds with pumpkins on and off for a looong time. So I thought that the version to just put the pumpkin in the crafting grid might be outdated... LOL
Maelstrom Posted August 12, 2025 Report Posted August 12, 2025 If you aren't opposed to "cheating" you could slilp into creative mode, grant yourself 2-4 seeds (I think the yield was in that range) and discard the gourd source.

It's 1 believe it or not. Which I thought was kinda cheap, but then that 1 seed will get you quite a few pumpkins.

The last time I farmed punkins was 1.16 or 1.17, sooooo; it's been a while.
