Vintage story is my favorite game. Of all time. Earlier versions, I use several mods. However. I'm curious. Does 1.21 corporate content that were once only available through mods? Like butchering, or combat overhaul? I don't want to list my standard mods here, but I'm wondering what others think about the mods they bring to 1.21 or if it should just be played stone cold....

I always do a vanilla run-through first, just to take in the changes, then I play what I call Vanilla+, which adds 5(?) mods that don't impact gameplay, things like Spear and Fang's Sortable Storage, and then several with mods that give a different experience. Nothing consistent. Whatever I feel like trying out.

To answer your question, for the most part no. There were maybe a few small mods that were made no longer necessary (they were workarounds for bugs).

Similar to Thorfinn, although my vanilla run will be very brief. Most of the mods I use are QoL, tweaks, and GUI changes. Any content that is added is very small and player created items.

I don't believe any content from mods were implemented into 1.21.

I think it's just a handful of some Quality of life mods and some mods that fix bugs.

Like there was a mod that gives you some minor Qol stuff with text with modifying/editing your text in chat, handbook search, signs, etc... and 1.21 has implemented those Qol things.
