Fredrik45MC Posted August 26, 2025 Report Posted August 26, 2025 I don't know if this is something one could potentially already do in VS, or if it is something that could be suggested to be implemented, but to be able to either group mods into shareable folders that can be shared with other people and then loaded in a single menu without the need to either remove mods or rename files, just plug and play, or to be able to save presets in a json file or something similar to how it is done in games like barotrauma or arma. It would be a massive QoL for people who are either running several modded runs with different people/servers or just switch between vanilla and modded without having to make sure that every single mod has been unticked before running.
Katherine K Posted August 27, 2025 Report Posted August 27, 2025 Apparently, it's a parameter you can pass to the executable, --addModPath followed by the path to the folder containing the mods. I haven't tested it, but the name seems to imply that you can have multiple such paths added, one for each modpack, effectively. Of course, that means that you'd need to then create either a custom .bat file or a shortcut with command arguments for any combination of mod folders you want to enable/disable. It wouldn't be too difficult to create a launcher for this, as was briefly discussed in another topic. If this isn't something actively in development by VS team, it could be a community project.
