Phantom72 Posted September 2, 2025 Report Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) I absolutely appreciate the effort that went into the elk but here are some suggestions. Elks could follow path blocks, or at least align to the closest cardinal when within a couple of degrees to counter the zig-zag. Detect and alert the player to the presence of predators. If not mounted, turning into the direction of the danger with some bugling and hoof stamping. Not blindly run into pits? I'm still not sure what to do about this, but surely they can't be that dumb.-- (a couple of minutes later...)no wait, if I'm dumb enough to aim for black hole of doom it should stop, and if I get thrown... I deserved it. I would love to see elks be more like a companion with a personality an smarts other that a vehicle with a trunk. And related to the controls, it feels like such an artificial constraint not being able to look behind when mounted; And maybe an keyboard toggle for mouse steering ? Edit in relation to mouse steering: No need for any special controls, empty hand, r-button hold. Edited September 3, 2025 by Phantom72 4

Would be mildly frustrating, but also rather fitting if your elk throws you because you deliberately tried to ride it off a cliff. 1
Entaris Posted September 2, 2025 Report Posted September 2, 2025 That IS how horses work IRL, but i dunno the IQ of an elk.
