Faerador Posted September 7, 2025 Report Posted September 7, 2025 (edited) New player here. I'm confused. I mined a large "rich copper" deposit to get a ton of "rich chunks of native copper," which claim they have 25 units of copper each. However, when I smash one with a hammer, it only gives 5 units, the same as a "poor chunk." Is this intended? Am I missing something? Am I supposed to smelt the chunk itself rather than smash it? What is going on? Edit: Yeah, I'm confused. I can't maths, apparently. I'm getting 5 pure chunks of 5 copper bits each, which does add up to 25 units total. I was thinking it dropped 25 bits, and got confused because each bit is 5 units. Never Jhonsen Posted September 8, 2025 Report Posted September 8, 2025 It happens The "5 units = 1 bit" threw me off a lot when I started playing as well It's an odd way of setting it up, having the smallest unit being 5 and not 1. 1
Maelstrom Posted September 8, 2025 Report Posted September 8, 2025 14 hours ago, Never Jhonsen said:  The "5 units = 1 bit" More accurately 1 nugget = 5 units.  Mine chunks of ore out of the ground that will smash down to a variety of different nuggest depending on the quality (i.e. Rich in this case).  Each nugget is worth 5 units in the crucible for smelting purposes.  The confusing part is the chunk will do that math, in this case a Rich chunk of or will create 5 nuggets each worth 5 units in the crucible for a total of 25 units.
