neon10 Posted September 7, 2025 Report Posted September 7, 2025 ive noticed that pies can greatly increase the time they can be fresh by placing them on the ground has anyone else noticed this
Echo Weaver Posted September 7, 2025 Report Posted September 7, 2025 Is it winter? That's a pretty nice freshness time. It seems to me that one of the worst spoilage rates you can get is in your own inventory. Putting stuff anywhere gives it freshness for a lot longer.

Pretty much, although it somewhat depends on the weather. Player inventory is 100% spoilage rate by default, I think, which will be worse than other storage options in cooler weather, but better than ground/open storage in hot weather. 15 minutes ago, Echo Weaver said: Is it winter? That's a pretty nice freshness time. Could just be longer than normal month length, possibly. But colder weather is the more likely factor. 1

I keep a storage vessel next to my bed for this very reason. Any food in my current inventory goes into the storage vessel before sleeping. 2
