Echo Weaver Posted September 10, 2025 Report Posted September 10, 2025 While digging a mineshaft, I found myself hacking through the ceiling of this grisly room. What the heck is this? It looks like a torture chamber, complete with chains hanging from the walls and ceilling. Are rooms like this all over the place, or is this distinctive? Is there a lore book in here I haven't found? Â
Shoom Posted September 10, 2025 Report Posted September 10, 2025 I found what looked like a mass grave once, just a big pit full of bony soil and skeletons, very creepy. (perhaps victims of the disease, buried deep underground in hopes of containing it) The particular one you posted I haven't seen before however. But then again, I keep finding new ones myself, even after hundreds of hours.

Echo Weaver Posted September 10, 2025 Author Report Posted September 10, 2025 I probably shouldn't have put this in questions. It's technically a question but at least half a rant.Â

Butterbot Posted September 14, 2025 Report Posted September 14, 2025 I don't think there is any particular lore associated with this ruin. I've also found it. I just assumed that as things were getting grim/messed up as things were collapsing, that some people started engaging in strange practices. Maybe a little ritualism? Maybe a little human sacrifice? Who can say? I chalked it up to it being a time capsule of a weird time and a great source for resources.
YordaEatsMelon Posted September 23, 2025 Report Posted September 23, 2025 Yeah, I've so far thought it's a grave for rot victims, or a place they put them while alive and being consumed by rot so that they couldn't contaminate others as it progressed incurably. The rust spikes is a feature I've seen be generated by the Rust, as it seems to make them appear in areas it's corrupted or affected.
