Can i use bear hides for leather making?

i have a bear hide with its head intact but it looks like i cant cut the head off while the bear hide is not cured and i have a feeling that bear pelt cant be made into leather

Bear hides should be usable for leather, with or without the head portion still attached. Just shove them into a barrel of limewater or borax to start the process.

Yep, once its soaked and you've processed it with your handy dandy boot knife, that bear pelt will be headless and your chain will be closer to fruition. XD
