Galdor_Mithr Posted October 27, 2025 Report Posted October 27, 2025 I finally figured out how to take screen shots and as you can tell I'm a little bit please with my self and with what iv accomplished! first is my pit house inspired by migration period Saxon settlements in England built on spawn as i was in a mad dash to beat the winter that seamed a bit anti climatic when i finally got there, then the inside of the smithy complete with tapestry and realistic smithy organised messiness witch is not finished outside due to a temporal storm, then finally my map witch shows how iv been desperately looking for a warmer climate and also shows some gear and the in game date. I have tons of food (like to much i may have to get composting) and good enough gear to get away from a bear attack or a horde of... those things... and a fancy shield! needless to say the effort i put in researching this game and reading the guides helped a lot (i still don't know what time swap on the y key is for tho) I've just found tin (one and a half days north) but now iv hit my goals, think I might take a brake now do some real life shenanigans idk yet may just go for a walk with out being attacked by a angry wild chicken! when i come back i may build a walled village here or even migrate to the tropics (if I can find them). thank you for helping with my last requests hope this post is easier to understand than my first, tell me what you think! 4

Winter though...I won't say it's not a challenge, because it is, but I feel this is probably how winter feels to many new players once it arrives, haha. It's a looming threat in the background, but once you've put in the effort to prepare for it, it's really not that bad. I do like that Anglo-Saxon dugout design though...definitely going to take a crack at something similar in one of my future playthroughs. 1

Thanks mate iv really enjoyed the binge the game has had me happy and scared and sometimes both the madness is fun! With winter food was a big scare now i have too much of it i feel, and the last thing i did was to add chickens and a pen to get rid of some of the flax seed so when i come back storage isn't a headache. Now iv done two iv learnt to bring a crock pot and bread everywhere so i can use the hunters speed to move through the snow and run down deer, also to visit my spots to turn up the render distance to scout by eye for the thaw. The pit house/dugout house was a go to from my irl knowledge i needed a house quick i didn't know when it would get dark and i could hear wolfs so i made a 2 by 4 pit with earth walls and log roof and stayed for the traders En rout and Mustafa (totally a couple), it has expanded from there as i needed more space and now its quite spacious . I'm moving on this summer tho i really want to find a warmer climate with no snow for a rice harvest and easer all year exploration.

Thank you mate! i am awful at it tho I'm giving the carving mechanic a go and its helping me brake out of that mold (slowly) but the rest is me being a history nerd thinking how our ancestors would live and get around problems... like bears... them gosh darn bears. iv found the fire place really set it off that and i really want to add a scroll rack to go with the book shelf for the lore bits iv found. for getting started at anything i use what a painter said to me once "Make a mistake. Get something down. And then go from there"
