The_Tataguy08 Posted November 20, 2025 Report Posted November 20, 2025 Can I pick up the bone arrows that the surface bowtorn shoot at me? Because, that'd be a great source of ammo. 1
Solution Professor Dragon Posted November 20, 2025 Solution Report Posted November 20, 2025 (edited) No, you can't. However, you can harvest Bowtorn with a knife, as you would do for a Drifter or animal, and they have a drop chance of including a Bone arrow. Frankly though, they're not worth it. They take a precious inventory slot in the early game, and later they are outclassed by . . . well, anything really. A flint spear, for example. And if you are getting enough of them to use as ammo . . . well, then you're getting shot by Bowtorn way more than is healthy. Plus . . . kind of gross. You'd be better off using that slot for a pile of rocks. Not only can you knap tools with them, but you can throw one of them if you need to get the attention of something. Or go to a body of water and skip them. Professor Dragon. Edited November 20, 2025 by Professor Dragon 1

While I do agree with most of this, they are actually kinda useful if you're waiting until iron or better for crafting arrows, and don't otherwise want to buy ammunition. Bone arrows do have a higher break chance than flint arrows, but they also do a bit more damage. If you need something cheap, that you don't care about finding after shooting, bone arrows are fairly useful in that regard. That being said... 1 hour ago, Professor Dragon said: Plus . . . kind of gross. This is a good enough reason not to use them, in my book. 1
