EmperorPingu Posted December 16, 2025 Report Posted December 16, 2025 Hey, so my suggestion is to Update the Title Screen. I have a number of suggestions so I will list them here. My suggestions are not so much based on the aesthetics of the Title / Menu Screen, but are rather more about the function and Utility of what can be done before a game is started or entered. Pressing "Esc" can return the player to the splash screen Customizable (and moddable) Splash Screen Customizable Title Screen Am I the only one that thinks the side bar of the Title Screen would look amazing in pink? Customizable typefaces For the Title Screen and elsewhere in the game tbh Saveable playstyles Saveable world-gens Preset world-gens Personally, I'm not hyped on the default and prefer generally flatter terrains with realistic mountains and terrain elevations. I also like Oceans as well, but just having some of these kinds of variations as presets that can be selected (or customised as usual) would be helpful for us dummies who find it difficult to figure out how a lot of it all works together. Mods are managed separetely for each world Before entering a savefile, the player should be able to enable or disable which mods they have for that world specifically from the title screen, rather than work out which ones were being used for a specific save and editing the entire Mod Manager each time. "Hardcore" as a playstyle preset Soil Instability and Cave ins enabled as default This is just an opinion really Ability to isolate multiplayer servers by version Alternatively, the ability to change versions from Title Menu (or both) Ability to sort multiplayer servers by ping Ability to read a multplayer server's full playstyle settings before entering the server And that's about all I have for now - If you got any other Title Screen suggestions, lets hear it,

I'm not sure it's a matter of "it can't be modded" as much as it might be that no one's been inclined to change the title screen via mod yet. Similar reasoning to how texture packs can be made easily enough, but there's only a few texture packs that currently exist. Probably not the only one, but I don't think it would be a popular change. Greens, browns, copper colors, and bright teal tend to be the most prominent colors when it comes to general VS aesthetics. Pink on the title screen, whether bright or pastel, would be quite jarring, and I know it's a change I would definitely hate. On 12/16/2025 at 5:04 AM, EmperorPingu said: "Hardcore" as a playstyle preset Another thing that's not really needed if the player has the ability to make their own presets. Plus the player gets to set their own rules that way, so they could play something as easy or as hard as they wish while only being limited to one life, instead of being thrust into "Wildnerness Survival but only one life" rules. The latter is easy enough to achieve already by tweaking one setting before world creation. On 12/16/2025 at 5:04 AM, EmperorPingu said: Soil Instability and Cave ins enabled as default This is just an opinion really I wouldn't be shocked if this became default someday, but I also wouldn't be shocked if it remained off by default either. Personally, I prefer this option off by default, as I enjoy digging up pretty much whatever I want without having to worry about accidentally causing a disaster. I didn't know that :0 Thanks! 2 hours ago, LadyWYT said: If the player can save their own preferences for later use, there's not really a need for more presets than the default Yeh true, but sometimes it's nice to be able to have a certain type of generation straight out the box - like maybe one day I'll want an island survival, or maybe something with a lot of mountains, or maybe flatter terrain. I'm not so smart and following instructions online doesn't seem to get what I personally have been after - so having this is really just a way to get those settings quickly without doing hours of research and making tons of new games until it's "just right". I still haven't got mine Hardcore as a style is really just: Bit more difficult plus permadeath. Less about making new play style for the sake of it and more about establishing a bar that players can gravitate towards as a competative standard. Soil Instability - oh I love it. I love how immersive and real feeling VS is and the more realism the better imo. Every playstyle is valid ofc - my gf likes dragons, I like horses.

I still haven't got mine Right, and that's fair, but I also feel those are settings that depend quite heavily on individual preferences. "Island survival" to one player might mean an archipelago, or to another large islands with plenty of space and resources(and plenty of ocean between them), or to another mean a world that's almost entirely ocean with only a handful of tiny islands barely big enough for a modest homestead. It does take quite a bit of fiddling with settings to set one's own presets, if the option were added, however making the preset is something the player really only has to do once(unless they do a complete reinstall of their game). Plus if players can easily save a custom preset, there would probably be some sort of community list formed rather quickly that covers various presets. In any case, that's not to say that having more baked in presets is bad, just that I do think it's better to keep it simpler and let players tweak things to their own taste.
Teh Pizza Lady Posted December 18, 2025 Report Posted December 18, 2025 I would like scenarios... For example you spawn on an island with a few plants nearby (turnips, flax, mayyyybe some other crops). On one side of the island is a beach with lots of trees. The other side is covered in mountains with a few spots of ore that you can mine and turn into tools, weapons, and armor of your choice. You cannot swim. You are surrounded by deep ocean. Survive and beat the story chapters. This would of course require the player to manage their resources to build a boat, leave the island, venture out and find the story locations and advance all the way to Steel tools and weapons. 1

I changed mine to be a little bit swoopier (I think i chose the Nova font but I'd have to double check). I'd still enjoy an in-launcher setting but if you really want to it's at least not impossible! On the other hand I tried editing the files for the splash screens and insert my own screenshots that replace the ones I don't like, and the game refuses to acknowledge those... So unless I am doing something wrong there's no other way other than an official option for this. 2
