thee_ox Posted December 24, 2025 Report Posted December 24, 2025 Caribou have been domesticated worldwide into reindeer, making them the only domestic deer species. I think a domestication process for in game Caribou to reindeer would be cool, and they could be used to pull sleds through snow or something or maybe even be ridden. 5
BlackMoonHowling Posted December 28, 2025 Report Posted December 28, 2025 I love the fauna of the stone ages mods for that reason, it adds a bunch of caribou sub species you can domesticate and I believe ride. It would be great to have any cart in game in the future you could hook up to some sort of animal. 1
Facethief Posted December 28, 2025 Report Posted December 28, 2025 I like this idea, because caribou are far more common than elk. Seriously, how is it that compared to RL, elk and caribou have their ranges swapped? @Tyron, elk live in New Mexico and Southern California, for crying out loud! 1

They also used to live in the eastern US. I'm guessing though that creature ranges perhaps aren't fully fleshed out in the game, yet.
