TeddyTheOwl Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 Title pretty adequately describes the suggestion: add a world configuration option similar to "farming underground penalty" and similar to either adjust the chance or even just toggle the shattering of ceramic metal molds when using a watering can to cool them rapidly. I'd get a mod for it, but its apparently hard-coded according to the mod pages i could find that were adjacent to the subject It feels annoying that rapid cooling was added to the base game and in the same exact breath was made practically useless as a mechanic at the same time; with even the wiki saying "A Watering Can can be used to cool down an ingot mold, but is very impractical as it is extremely easy to break the mold by pouring too much water too quickly." I'd ramble on about how its dumb that I can't dump out "soft" ingots or that the mold shattering on a soft ingot still wastes metal but i digress (if this is wrong, sorry, the wiki has no info and my game is currently crashing-on-load for other reasons at the second, so I can't go and test it myself-- if it is wrong, some more published information other than "it will probably break your mold" would be great) 2
marmarmar34 Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 I would also like the ability to grab soft ingots, as I usually just want to work with them ASAP anyway. As for molds breaking from quick cooling, I think that's a fair trade off for those in a rush to get their metal ASAP. I have no issue with getting my pick head quicker at the loss of the mold.
