redpant Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 (edited) seems like a very good early game power set up that would fit right in! the windmill is awesome, but all that flax is hard to come by when you just get started, and waterwheels are an even more primitive tech that we've been using for way longer. Especially considering the new water-based updates, i dont see why not (unless to stay away from cliches in That Other Block Game... >_>) i guess balancing would be an issue, but having an opportunity to "scale up" without cheesing it (1000 block high windmills for that sweet max powa) would integrate the mechanics system more firmly into the game. maybe water-wheels are less efficient output wise, have a max amount of machines you can attach to them, or even unable to do certain tasks entirely. just been something ive been thinking about. thoughts? edit: just read through and saw this is both mentioned in the faq and the roadmap, which is very exciting! EmperorPingu Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 I haven't tested out the specific mechanic of it yet, but I think the Medieval Expansion mod has a Water wheel in it. Also I think rivers are coming in a future update Yeah ofc, all for it.
jerjerje Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 Waterwheels have literally already been teased in the discord for the next big update 1

Is that an official teaser? If so, it looks like metal is going to be the alternative material sink for water wheels. How exciting! Edit: On a related note, have they mentioned an estimated release on the update? Only asking because I'm considering a modded world, but I'd much rather hold off as to not burn myself out lol.
