CoFlo Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 Is it just me or are fish like nonexistent now? I have bodies of water all around me - lakes, ponds, ocean. I cant find a single fish. Ive had a baited line in the water without a hit for 10+ minutes.
SeaWarriorSon Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 I believe they mentioned that you have better luck fishing if you can see some fish physically in the water, so I'd hold out for that! And don't even bother trying in water that's only a pond/1 level deep, they won't ever work on those now, I believe
CoFlo Posted February 10 Author Report Posted February 10 Yeah maybe I just have a bad starting area because I cant see any fish in large lakes or the ocean. 1
Gaelyn Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 I went to a coral reef while on 1.22 and I couldn't find any live fish around it (I remember that same coral reef having TONS of fish before), so you might be onto something. All I was able to find there were the schools of extremely tiny fish that you can't interact with. I searched the entire coast along the coral reef too, but couldn't find a single live fish.

That being said, those are also the only two fish I recall seeing. Not that I've been specifically looking for fish, but I've seen several large ponds and lakes with no fish while tinkering around with 1.22, as well as an ocean that also seemed to have no fish. I suspect that fish spawn conditions were changed in order to go with the fishing, in that the fish are supposed to appear in prime fishing spots. That being said, I also agree with @Gaelyn; the fish are a little too rare, so it's possible they're bugged, or otherwise not tuned correctly. 1
