If anyone finds a more efficient ratio, please let us know -
Do your part to minimize deforestation Ingredients; 300 Units of copper/bronze/moldydolbychalkos 4 peat used initially One charcoal Then immediately 3 more peat (doesn't work without this) You'll see the 300 units juuuuuust start to cool off too much right before finishing Doesn't work for multiples of 300

Welcome to the forums! Mine got better after I started a creative world to brainstorm ideas for basic designs Typically, I'll look at how much space and materials I have available in survival, then remember those dimensions in a blank creative world and figure out a basic design that looks good. You can easily demolish it! Once you've got something good, you can take the design ideas into survival with confidence

A longstanding bug #5217 prevents the lore books found in display cases from reading properly. They do not read, nor do they add to the known lore. Do any of the coders know the line we could add in the files, and/or which is the relevant file to fix?

The fur coat used to have a hood that would show up visually, but no longer does But it still appears to override whatever headwear you have. Bug or somewhat intentional?

Gambeson is my go-to as well! Yes, that's why I posted; I always wait until iron to go caving. But with the new heavy windmill sails the flax harvest wasn't enough for armor + sails I feel like I would've waited a whole season to explore with confidence, without this armor. Happy trails!

While you get your leather/iron forge up and running, this stuff will keep you safe through most caves and allow you to travel and fight off even brown bears! (disclaimer, with a shield raised) Not a single plate need be forged! Takes less than a day, if you have the bronze and molds Take 5 pelts lying around and stay relatively safe today!

Oh, absolutely right! Quite significant, and still a problem but I just blew through mor than 4 stacks of peat, and a half stack of coal for only 32 calcinated flint, so I just thought I'd share whatever can be done currently to make it even a bit easier

Thank you for this, this'll save a lot of peat and coal in the new system -
@Steel General mentioned another possible fix of blooming the flint instead! Much less resource intensive, and doesn't require stacks and stacks of peat! For reference, you only have to cook six flint in the firepit - that's enough to make a bloomery, in which you can cook 24 flint with six charcoal.

I hope they make an adjustment before the stable release. Getting a decent amount of fire clay from flint feels like punishment in a meaner way than usual lol All the coal from so many trees
