Olives are fruits, and they grow on trees like you would expect a fruit to. This isn't even as controversial as tomatoes - an olive is a fruit - this isn't up for debate. Probably for the same reason that mushrooms and pumpkins are also classified as vegetables in the game, and why tomatoes are considered vegetables in conventional real life terms rather than a fruit like an apple or pear. It might also be to give another vegetable option to the warmer climates, since turnips and things aren't going to grow as well.
Dark Thoughts Posted February 27 Report Posted February 27 And today we learn that "vegetable" is really just a culinary term. It's usually just edible parts of a plant that are savory instead of sweet. Though I do kinda hate that the game does the mushrooms dirty by classifying them as vegetable, as they're not even plants and more of a protein source - which imo would also make them more useful past agriculture after the early game, which pretty much makes them completely obsolete & inferior.
