gromit190 Posted Saturday at 11:15 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:15 PM I do love this game, but that panning for those 40 (or whatever less since perhaps you were lucky to find some copper pieces on the surface) is a hard sell. It is too monotonous. Not that I know exactly how it could be altered though. But I feel like something should be done with that hurdle. If you're on a MP server and everyone works togheter on panning for the 40 it goes fast but SP or low-player MP runs it's kinda excruciatingly boring to pan for the two copper tools. Perhaps there could be some special early game tool (made out of clay + flint or something) that lets you mine and crush a single native copper block? IDK. Sorry for the complaint, VS is truly one of the most captivating games I've played in literal decades. Peace
Shoom Posted Saturday at 11:48 PM Report Posted Saturday at 11:48 PM From my experience, fastest way to get to copper is by running around and looking for bits on the ground and then maybe supplementing a few missing bits through panning. 5
coolAlias Posted Sunday at 01:24 AM Report Posted Sunday at 01:24 AM My first world, there were copper bits everywhere I looked. Current world, not a single one within a half day's travel in any direction. Sometimes, RNG is gonna RNG.
Thorfinn Posted Sunday at 02:21 PM Report Posted Sunday at 02:21 PM Panning is not for everyone. Not me, for sure. I just take the lack of copper as a sign I'm not in the right place to settle down yet. There used to be a mod that added some flint tools -- pick, saw, chisel, maybe some other stuff. Better than Heresy, IIRC. No idea if it still works. 1
