Morndenkainen Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago (edited) There should be a 100% early game craftable set of "warm enough" clothing. If you can make cloth, you ought to be able to make a cape to get yourself warm, without needing a pulverizer to make mordanted cloth, to make yellow dye, just to make a commoner jacket. Call it a homespun scarf, homespun cape, homespun gloves, homespun hood, and homespun footwraps... Maybe replace the word homespun with "Simple". IDK, Stuff like this should be available in-game without a mod. It doesn't take a lot of brainpower to wrap a sheet of cloth around yourself to stay warm, so there's no reason you'd need the clothier trait to be able to do it. It shouldn't take building a pulverizer to make mordanted cloth, so you can dye it yellow, just to make a coat, or hell, yellow thread so you can make some "commoner gloves"... Lemme make the coat/shoes/gloves/head scarf out of pain cloth... It doesn't have to keep you alive way up north, or even look all that great, but it should keep you alive through the winter in the normal starting area. Edited 8 hours ago by Morndenkainen
Rainbow Fresh Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Isn't that exactly what the pelt clothing is for? Kill deer or similarly big creature, treat into pelt, chop up into gloves/pants/top. 1
EnbyKaiju Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Yeah, pelt clothing is the early game clothing for warmth. Combine that with the warmth bonus you get from bear armor and you can even survive happily in tundra (and it gives you extra survivability in snowball earth). Skin animal, render fat, oil hide, turn hide into coat, boots and gloves. Doneski. Once you've got those you can start looking at some of the easier warm cloth clothing. But even most of those still need pelts.
