HalfAxd Posted May 12 Report Posted May 12 I’m something of a pyromaniac in VS... I often comment on the benefits of torching the world around you (ex. clear sight lines, dead animals to loot, exposed holes/caves, etc.) There are visual benefits as well... In my new 1.22 world, a peat deposit burned and created a beautiful cascade of water into a cavern it exposed. I love standing at this spot watching it flow... Enjoy 2
Desync_82 Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 I do this too, easier to hunt or spot nuggets without all the shrubbery blocking the view, but best to clear the area of other interesting but flammable stuff first 1
Crabsoft Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 I'm planning to try this on my next map. How far does the fire go? Any precautions to take?
Krakuntun Posted May 13 Report Posted May 13 (edited) If there is no water or other obstacle in it's way and no rain hailing from above it should theoretically spread indefinetly (probably within the bounds of chunk loading). Gaps in the burnable foilage however, stop the fire from spreading. I have a house in a big plains with and started a pit kiln... The fire spread to the horizon which was pretty epic at night and day... Some buildings of mine were endangerd by the fires, so I destroyed the grass two-block wide around dangerous avenues stopping it from spreading. A on-block gap might also work, tho i didn't wanna risk it. The fire somehow felt really real Edited May 13 by Krakuntun
WolvenCreator Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 This is crazy and I think... I might just have the perfect stretch of land to burn. Too much brush, not enough vision. It's going DOWN. >:3 1
Grummsh Posted yesterday at 09:37 AM Report Posted yesterday at 09:37 AM mhmmm i love the smell of peat burning in the morning!
