Ghoul Arte Posted May 16 Report Posted May 16 Don't know if it's because I have a mod installed(deactivated now in hopes my issue gets solved; it's not) but now, whenever I'm smithing, trying to finish my forging results in nothing happening after my last cut. Usually, the completed work piece pops into the inventory. This time, the completed work piece stays in place and any attempts to pick up said piece results in picking up the piece in its pre-cut stage; not a single voxel that I cut was removed. If I switch the tool to any other voxel movement and hit the piece, the cut voxels return even though I've cut them already. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, is there a fix for it? If not, are the Devs aware of such a problem/bug and if there's a fix planned for it? So far, I've not seen anyone discussing this. P.S. In case anyone is wandering, I was using the Thrifty Smithing Mod by Foxcapades, and I was trying to forge a copper hammer, copper pickaxe, copper chisel, copper sawblade, and copper nails & strips. I've used creative mode to get all these, but I dislike any form of cheating, so I want to avoid this in the future.
Krisch Posted May 17 Report Posted May 17 Haven't seen this behaviour yet. I am on 1.22.2 (vanilla) and just completed some smithing, i.e. copper plates and nails&Strips. For me it works as you describe and is expected: After the last cut of voxel, the item just pops into inventory (and might get thrown with an "ouch" if you don't use tongs )

If I've already described how it works and you tell me that it worked how I just desctibed how it's supposed to work, I don't need you to tell me that that is, indeed, how it works. Additionally, if you're responding to assure me that it does indeed work in vanilla, you could have left your response to just the first paragraph. The only helpful inference I got is my mod is broken to the point of needing to repair relevant game files, or start a new world.

I will also note that that mod is also for version 1.19.8, and hasn't been updated for 1.22. Older mods do sometimes work on newer game versions, however, 1.22 introduced a lot of changes to the code as a whole, not just smithing, which broke a lot of mods. If vanilla works, then you can try playing on your old world without the mod to see if things work as they should--make a backup before you do this! If vanilla works but the old world is still having the issue without the mod installed, you may need to start a new world, as I'm not sure there's a way to fix the issue otherwise. If vanilla isn't working correctly, you may need to reinstall the game in order to get it working properly again. Make sure you backup your cherished worlds in a separate folder when doing this, just to be safe.
