Steen45 Posted May 23 Report Posted May 23 Currently producing a large amount of shingles or tiles is very tedious. A clay press would require you to put clay on a mold beneath the press and it then the press stamps it into the mold. These would be useful for mass producing simple clay forms, and have potential to be mechanized (reciprocating press). Manual presses were already used by the romans. Mechanized clay forming came much later but I feel like it still fits in the game. If these exist clay bricks could also have to be formed (rather than just crafted) without being too tedious. 7 2
Heegrim Posted May 27 Report Posted May 27 Great idea! I would also want lower-tech molds for tiles/bricks/shingles (maybe made of wooden boards) to speed up hand forming. You would place clay right into them instead of splatting it on the floor and having to pick half the voxels back up. You would still have to place the voxels but it would prevent you from placing excess. 1
thecoda Posted June 1 Report Posted June 1 I definitely agree that forming clay takes too long :v Maybe they could add a kick wheel for quicker pottery as well as maybe molds for shingles and stuff

As it is, building thin walls is tedious simply for UI issues, as moving too quickly when placing voxels tends to frequently skip them.
