Currently producing a large amount of shingles or tiles is very tedious. A clay press would require you to put clay on a mold beneath the press and it then the press stamps it into the mold. These would be useful for mass producing simple clay forms, and have potential to be mechanized (reciprocating press). Manual presses were already used by the romans. Mechanized clay forming came much later but I feel like it still fits in the game. If these exist clay bricks could also have to be formed (rather than just crafted) without being too tedious.
