Prof Neils Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 Hi fellow vintarians, I'm having an issue where the new (likely brightness) effects are triggering migranes any time I try to take even a small drink. Which is rough because (while admittedly a me problem) I've spent the last 250+ hours on my farm brewing and distilling dozens of barrels of alcohol. A similar issue is that, the old effects were incredibly fun, and had a great deal more verisimilitude. That is, the old drinking effects actually felt realistic. The new brightness effect is not only a major accessibility issue for something that used to be fun, they're replacing something that used to be a great component to VS (my only complaint was ever that they didn't last long enough / a realistic amount of time). Any help making it so that I can once again get drunk and fall off my roof would be greatly appreciated. -Prof 6
dakko Posted May 28 Report Posted May 28 I believe the mod, Accessibility Tweaks, can adjust brightness. That isn't something I've tried, and I do not know if it can be done specifically during the drunk visuals or if it is for the overall game. I hope it does the trick for you! 1

I can attest that the mod does indeed have a setting specifically for the "drunk" visuals, lol. You can even completely turn them off, if you wish. I use it to turn off psychedelics for similar issues (which quickly lead to seizures in my case). 1

Thank goodness for Apache's Accessibility Tweaks mod.
Prof Neils Posted Saturday at 11:10 AM Author Report Posted Saturday at 11:10 AM Thanks! It's good to know that the brightness can be turned off. Beyond accessibility, it's still a shame to lose an engaging and realistic mechanic. Was there ever discussion as to why it was changed?

I don't think there was any mention of a change being made in the announcements here, but maybe it has been discussed in their discord: Discord Chat Server It's also possible that what you're seeing is not intended. It might be worthwhile bringing it up in the issue tracker. If it winds up being a glitch, they'll be able to fix it. 1
