Hentai Ninja Posted June 1 Report Posted June 1 Hey hey! I have a problem with drifters spawning inside the house and attic, but not cellar. I am aware the oil lamp light level is not high enough, so not to loose ambient vibe oil lamp gives i installed a mod that highlights safe tiles and changes safe light level for spawning to desired effect. However it doesnt work, mobs still spawn inside even when lowering safe light zone requirement; and now everywhere, not just unsafe tiles from before. So i started wondering if there are some additional spawn rules except light level, since my cellar is safe. My rooms are insulated, windows use aged window panels looted from ruins, walls are made of plaster and floor of oak planks. Rooms are not bigger than 7x7x7. I dont want strong lantern light or torches inside for esthetic reasons, is there no way around this? I have rifts disabled in my world settings, does it affect it? Thank you for help

Do the spawns go back to what they were before when you remove the mod? It sounds like the mod has some issues and is causing unintended consequences. One thing to check in that regard is to make sure it's been updated appropriately for your game version. 3 hours ago, Hentai Ninja said: So i started wondering if there are some additional spawn rules except light level, since my cellar is safe. When mods change the spawn rules(and it seems the one you installed does), then it's a little tough to say exactly what the new rules are. For the vanilla game, the room just needs to be well-lit(typically with lanterns or chandeliers), and cluttering it with decoration and pelt rugs can help cut down on spawns, at least in my experience. Make sure there aren't rifts nearby that enemies could be spawning from, and also make sure that the enemies can't find their way in via open doors and whatnot. 3 hours ago, Hentai Ninja said: I dont want strong lantern light or torches inside for esthetic reasons, is there no way around this? If rifts are disabled that will help cut down on spawns, but if the interior still qualifies as an enclosed "cave" type space then it can still spawn monsters if the light level is low enough. Unfortunately, there's not a way around this outside of using mods, at least to my knowledge. The good news is there seems to be a good handful of mods that try to tackle the issue in different ways, so if the one you have installed now isn't producing satisfactory results there's a few others to try. 1
