I think this is fine -- good even, to keep as an option (possibly even the *default* option given peoples' friction with storms). My idea is that, during temporal storms, the besieging enemies could be capable of damaging blocks they deem "in the way", for the duration of the storm, making them fracture or become glitchy in some new way, and allowing them passage through otherwise impassible barricades. More durable materials would prove more resilient. At the end of a storm, any temporally shattered blocks would return to their normal, undamaged state. 3
qualicabyss Posted Sunday at 05:27 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:27 PM I don't think that's the best idea. It would just result in even dumber strategies like floating boxes, and if your house has windows you'd see that no one is surviving even a weak temporal storm early game by fighting. 2

Aside from the fact that you'd need to account for chiseled blocks(because these can easily be made of mixed materials), you'd have to have an option to allow players to turn this feature off. Hiding might not be an exciting option for dealing with a temporal storm, but it is a safe one, and an option players should be able to use if they don't want to handle that storm for some reason. Removing that option and forcing players into the storm is a good way to get more players to turn off storms entirely rather than try to engage with the mechanic. 1

It feels right for the time shift implications of “temporal”. It’s also nice because it’s not permanently damaging the thing you worked hard to build, and would definitely give more functional value to building a bunker. I think it fits more as a mod than part of the core game myself, and I might be looking for a mod like that before long. 1
