Farmore Posted 9 hours ago Report Posted 9 hours ago I have a pretty big two story house mansion I built in survival and it's absolutely freezing in here in winter. If I go into my storage shed or cellar I warm up but I don't warm up at all in my mansion. Is it not being counted as room because it's so big? It's not chiseled, just lots of open space. Is there a way to fix this and make my house warmer? How can I check in game if it's being counted as room?

For a space to qualify as a room, it needs to be no bigger than 14x14x14 and sealed off with appropriate doors, windows, and insulating blocks. https://wiki.vintagestory.at/Room Exceeding those dimensions, chiseling away too much of the structure, or using crude doors will render a room invalid. Since you mentioned there was no chiselwork involved, I'd recommend making sure the room dimensions aren't exceeding the 14x14x14 limit and otherwise make sure that you have proper doors and windows. If you used slabs in the construction, make sure that the slabs are flush to the interior; if they are flush to the exterior then they won't count as insulating blocks for that space. I'm guessing the problem is just that your rooms are too big to qualify as insulated spaces. Splitting the big rooms into smaller rooms should solve the problem. Or build a fireplace and light a cozy fire as needed.
