Slam Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 (edited) A system to move water via manual and automated pumps. Got the idea when commenting on Mechanical Refrigeration system, pumps would allow you to transport water short distances, and also carry the temperature in said water. Uses Water drip pipes, -Used to water multiple crops at once -High power maintain a high moisture level — Moisture can be higher then regular irrigation -More pipes require more power/time to maintain that moisture Heating/cooling - Using Mechanical Refrigeration system to move hot/cold water, which can be moved around to heat or cool your base - Could be used in cellars to make them stay cooler in warmer seasons Transporting water source blocks (for niches/wilderness survival players) -Self explanatory Edited June 30 by Slam Grammer. 2
Cedric the Silent Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 (edited) hmmm, I was recently experimenting with the pipes and pump system I just recently found out was in the hydrate or diedrate mod which I for some reason never noticed them being in that mod because I just kept digging old fashion wells or boiled my water instead, got to admit it would be interesting see someone make expanded content for that mod using those pipes and I would love something like a system to water my crops for me. TheRealMork Posted June 30 Report Posted June 30 Some ideas related to what you're asking for, that could use already in-game mechanics: - We have Archimedes screws, they should be able to move water, as in real life. (I think there's a mod for that, but I didn't try it) - When water circulate on top of a 1 block thick layer of rock or wood (as in a aqueduct, for instance) there is a visual effect making water dripping beneath those blocks. It should be able to water the tiles bellow and keep them at 100% humidity. 1

I mean building a complex one block shallow pool above my farm to slowly drip water upon my crops wouldn't look good to me, the water would also risk freezing come winter, the structure risk blocking the sun light from the crops, would need to make my green house even bigger to fit such a mess and it would look ugly to me. Instead I would just prefer to have a thin pipe system running through my greenhouse all the way to the inner roof that can sprinkle a spray of water down each time I turn the valve or lever handle and I can turn off when done watering. Maybe have a choice between connecting the system either to a large water tank, lake or pond. It would be logical, realistic, some mods already have assets for such system available for use only needing to asking permission to use, they themselves to could implement it if they want, or some one can maybe even use assets that are already in base game because I'm sure I've seen parts for ruin pipes and metal tanks in base game before. But it was a neat to learn about the water dripping effect you mention I never really paid enough attention to that detail or the one block thick layer of rock rule that causes it. 1

They were suggesting alternatives. These mechanics do not exist in the base game. 1

I see here I thought I had just learn some new detail about the game I never heard about only to learn I just miss read a post, though can you blame me not to think that water droplets being able to be used in farming being something that would be believable in this game considering all the other little attention to details they added I could straight up believe they may add something like that in the future.

I thought chutes were much more expensive but no, just an ingot per block, still, my “small” pipes would be a way to move water upwards, and could be put inside blocks or up agist a block, and will be more efficient ingot per block ratio.

I was indeed just throwing ideas based on what already exist in the game. The dripping effect I described exist, but as far as I know it does not water the blocks beneath it. Your question about how it would work in a farm is not a bad one: I didn't really think this through, honestly. 1
