Do chiseled snow blocks melt?

I made a snow man, made of snow of course. with some bauxite and slate for flavor.

will he die? Do i need to pack him up in the spring?

will he be reduced to slush and sorrow in the rain?

should i give him a top hat?

i have no reason to believe the developers of this game would be so cruel as to allow the weather to murder an innocent snow man. how ever the lack of information on wiki of chiseled snow has me ill at ease. an expedient answer would be most appreciated as there is a great deal at stake.

I created a test world on the current v1.22.5 (Stable) and advanced time to confirm.
