Jacsmac Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Titanium is very strong for its weight, meaning titanium tools could be the next tier after steel (maybe the same tier as a theoretical alloy steel). Titanium tools could be equally as durable as steel, but mine blocks faster. Since processes to make pure titanium metal were not introduced until the 20th century, perhaps titanium bars could be obtained using Jonas tech or the chemical process can be made a bit more unrealistic. You know what, maybe titanium tools aren't feasible at all, but the idea is cool.
qualicabyss Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 No Just...no. Titanium is a weaker, if lighter, material than steel. Manufacturing it is not viable for the time period at all
LigerTitan Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Personally I don't think titanium tools would be incredibly practical but titanium reinforcements for things like mechanical stuff would be pretty practical because then your stuff wouldn't catch on fire The disadvantage could be is that it would move a lot slower But for adding something to the endless pile of wishlist stuff cows They need to add in cows Along with that a cool idea could be guns I don't mean like machine guns I mean like muskets or flintlocks.
SnapJelly Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 (edited) Well Ilmenite/Titanium is in the game but I don't think the in game tech is at a lvl that we could actually work it into a tool I mean of course they could make something up but I feel like steel is already very strong as it is Edited August 27 by SnapJelly Spelling error
DeanF Posted August 30 Report Posted August 30 Because it is lighter, titanium works horribly for some uses that require mass. Like hammers, axes, or swung swords. Even a titanium knife just doesn't feel right. (Titanium knives are used when corrosion resistance or non-sparking characteristics are desirable, such as for diving or EOD.) 1
