I've only had one multiplayer server play session so far and no one else was online so i wasn't able to test this but does food still decay while you are offline if its stored in a container created by you? By default, if nobody is on the server, time freezes. However, if you are absent, but other players are on, everyone's food will decay. This is because it's based on the calendar. As long as the calendar progresses, time progresses. Now, recently a config options was added to make time progress even when *nobody* is online.
