Cameron Textor Posted November 18, 2020 Report Posted November 18, 2020 The devs need to submit pre release files ahead of release to multiple Antivirus Labs. Start with avast since this is a big free antivirus that millions of people use and it is flagging the file and driving me crazy everytime i try to install a new prerelease. the same thing should be sent to malwarebytes, norton, symantec, kaspersky etc and many others to prevent these same nuisance anti virus detections.
Tyron Posted November 23, 2020 Report Posted November 23, 2020 I'd love to but I need detection names. I don't have a PC for every antivirus program out there, I'm afraid. Symantec I already tried to report, but their max upload size is 100mb >.>
Tels Posted November 23, 2020 Report Posted November 23, 2020 Unfortunately some AV vendors flag files that they haven't seen many instances as malware just due to "it is new, and unique, so it is probably bad." Try uploading the file to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/ - they are known in the industry and run each upload through a few dozen scanners so you can see the results for each of them.
Cameron Textor Posted November 24, 2020 Author Report Posted November 24, 2020 SOLVED Use the following website to submit the files before release. They will forward the scan results from them to many anti virus vendors.https://www.virustotal.com/gui/
