PhotriusPyrelus
So I found a bee's nest, but it's really high in a tree and looks like it might be completely surrounded by leaf blocks (also might be more than 7 blocks off the ground). I've left some skelps below it, and put 10ish flowers around, but it's been quite some time and the skelps are still empty. Does it just take a really long time, or is something perhaps mechanically wrong?
allstreets
The block info for the beehive should tell you when the hive will swarm into an empty skep - it's dependent on the amount of flowers around, and generally takes a few days unless you've put in dozens of flowers. If the hive is more than 7 blocks up though, i recommend building a sort of dirt level a few blocks up surrounding the trunk of the tree so you can put your skep within 7 blocks (and the flowers as well).
Silent Shadow
The skep just needs to be near the hive with some flowers around, I think the hive could be encased in stone and still populate nearby skeps. I would also recommend a fence around the skep so raccoons do not pillage it.
