/role suplayer spawnpoint

When I change the spawnpoint of the default role to like /role suplayer spawnpoint -247 110 79 the players spawn in the air. What am I doing wrong?

In the screen shot the y coordinate is pretty much at build height.  They're likely to have about a 100+ block fall. 

Beyond that, one of the more techie folks would need to help.
