TheCurmudgeon Posted July 25, 2022 Report Posted July 25, 2022 Has anyone experienced this happening? I looked at the bug archive and didn't see it mentioned. It has occurred twice now once with some meat and then with some wood. I didn't notice right away till I went to get the items later. Version 1.16.5 Thanks
Hal13 Posted July 25, 2022 Report Posted July 25, 2022 Did you have any other container open? If there is a not-full stack somewhere the game first adds the items to that stack, and if there are several containers open they seem prioritized according to their position.

No just the one I was shift clicking to.
Hal13 Posted July 26, 2022 Report Posted July 26, 2022 And it did not appear in your task bar / inventory either, instead of going into the container? Than you might have encountered a bug, but it might be difficult to replicate (and without that fixing isn't likely)... Local play or on a multiplayer server? If playing over the internet it could be lost data packages, but I couldn't think of anything else right now. 1
Matthew Elliott Posted February 4, 2025 Report Posted February 4, 2025 I've had the same thing happen to me multiple times today. I was even able to replicate the bug. Unfortunatley i lost a couple whole stacks of seeds and also some stacks of thatch.

When trying to shift click thing from inventory or chest into my hotbar when all the slots on it were taken the items simingly disapeared. BUT i actually found them in the reed chest i placed on my raft which was parked nearby. It was couple blocks away outside my dirt house on water bank. And the weirdest thing is the icons on the chest were looking like it was empty but when shiftclicked or tried to put an item into it i got one of the items i recently lost shift clicking back. I think this bug keeps happening (i havent moved my raft since and have no idea if its conected) - i will try to test it next time im playing and will report back here 1
Cetasaya Posted February 20, 2025 Report Posted February 20, 2025 Same here. Loading up my Resonance Archive loot to sail back to base with. Full hotbar. Lore books keep emptying out the double chest but my inventory was completely full. Books just dissapeared forever. Emptied out my inventory hoping theyd pop back in from the ether as they sometimes do. Looked around the room and floor. Looked in the other chests. Nada on all counts. Good thing I made strick backups in case a bear paws me back to spawn while playing courier. This issue has plauged me and so many others for a LOOOOOONG time now. Its a common very easily triggered bug and the consequences can be heavy if someone doesnt keep backups and they happen to be moving critical items. I've had this damn issue as long as I can remember across many versions and multiple devices. Ive lost these lore books, ive lost my best bony soil panning loot (literally gold, silver, jewlery, ect.), tools, crops, you name it. Enough is enough. This issue needs to be addressed and it needs to be fixed already. It should have not been allowed past testing in the first place and the fact that its STILL happening is unacceptable. 1
Dilan Rona Posted February 20, 2025 Report Posted February 20, 2025 Had that happen to me as well some time ago on someone elses server. Eventually found the missing items in chests at my base, a good 25 chunks away. The game didnt register me closing the chests, and had them open in a phantom way.
