I recently went through the process of capturing my chickens, and I had 3 smashed traps and 6 or so false catches (the trap was sprung, but nothing was inside them) by the time I managed to catch a breeding pair. So it could just be bad luck.

it's wild that I couldn't obtain a gear any other way until I panned for one, and then after I got my first one I got 4 more from monster killing. I'm still panning for candles though, I have yet to find bees to make my own wax.

My seraph has finally retired from his exhausting career as a long distance swimmer, preferring to wake up much closer to home. as it turns out, there is more than just gold in them there hills. (panning is so worth the time)

I think I will attempt to make a kill bunker out of chiseled blocks to hide in and stab from for the next temporal storm, I have seen a few different examples of them that seem pretty easy to build and will minimize my exposure to the beasties. Hopefully that will get me a gear or two [knock on wood].

I still haven't gotten any work done on the smithy (lots of material collecting!) but I have started domestication of the most dangerous predator in the game... The Mouflon Sheep!

that is indeed one of the next things I plan on turning my attention to (and roofing), the question is should it be set up for in game optimization or try to replicate a real life smithy?

The smithing mechanic is really cool, I finally experienced it after I entered the bronze age in the newest video. Still looking for a temporal gear to set my spawn closer to home.

As it says on the tin, I'm new to the game and am uploading my playthrough to youtube. I'm entirely new to video creation so the editing is really basic (and in my opinion a little trash) but I am having a blast playing the game so far, and was told I could link the video in this forum, any critique or advice is welcome! Seeing as how I am a complete newbie to both the game and this forum, is there any additional rules or guidelines (even word of mouth courtesies) beyond the linked forum guidelines that I should be aware of when posting a youtube link in the offtopic section? I really want to put my best foot forward without putting it in my mouth.

are there any official (or community suggested) hashtags for content creators to use on their videos to help people find them, or is it just whatever the individual wants to use?
