I know it says it 'repairs it', but does it only let me pick up the clutter, so i can put it back down in the exact same form, or does it transform a broken chute, or a bed, into its usable variant?

@Maelstrom In some, mostly asian mythologies, the world is just an island on top of a massive turtle, and i always liked that concept -
It'd be pretty cool if we could craft paintings immersively by creating a canvas stand, and a canvas, putting the canvas on the stand, and then the game using the forge selection GUI to let us pick which in-game painting we want to make, and then giving us one of those stitching guides where a number represents a colour and we have to put individual dye colours on the voxels of the canvas, and when we put every colour in the correct place it'd give us the finished painting as an item we could hang. Or have an option in the GUI for us to paint whatever we want and then we can just press a button to transform the canvas on the stand to an item we can hang. Hell, let us make different sizes of canvas .....Great mod idea too, now that i think about it. Wish i knew how to code something like this.

To be fair, that is a great feeling, but im still not decided if i'd have it work properly and lose both the good and the bad parts of this, or just have it like this.

I have had my javelin jank a wolf directly into me(which proceeded to tear m throat out....), so a stone bouncing off a knife thats being used to stab, doesnt seem outlandish to me. The collisions in this game can be a special kind of jank. I would be lying if i wasnt upset after i poked a wolf trying to bite me, and have the wolf absorb the spear, not take damage, and attach itself to it when i pulled it back.

Its so much effort to make them look good, and even just making them useful for practical purposes its not an insignificant amount of effort. Im sticking to my 'year one dirt hut to year two mansion' progression for now.

I saw that, but im looking for something like that, but more cheaty, and less restrictive. The item could be limited to creative mode, i dont give a damn, i dont want it for survival but i do want to use it in creative to see what the world is like if the stone blocks were invisible

I wish there was a proper xray mod that made it possible to see through the world.

I am afking through the winter because its boring as shit, and i keep hearing wolves, i go outside, and i cant find them anywhere. I flattened the area near my base and cleared all vegetation so i can see until the sheer 90 degree cliffaces, and there no wolves nearby. Why do i keep hearing their howls? Is there a mod that can show me where they are, like an xray mod or something?

Thats kinda the thing. I was trying to envision my first house that i ever built in vintage story, and i didnt know the blocks in this game besides the standard clay brick block, and i pushed the tab on the left and got swamped with a bunch of stuff that absolutely should not be mixed into the same category, because the category becomes completely pointless if it contains literally everything in the game. I just wanted to look at pretty blocks to build with. The wiki page on blocks was really helpful, but frankly that should be put into the guidebook as a guide section, wholesale. Also, i found that page after i made this post.

I wish it had a section just for blocks, because unlike other games like terraria, vintage story is bloated on random useless crap items, and not blocks, and blocks are the smaller group by far, and i'd like to scroll just those, the things i can put on the ground. Maybe have sub sections where you can select not quite full blocks, like stairs and fences and stuff, and another sub section for decorations like the clutter from ruins you can glue back together

Which is the case with me. Load of bull. Fixing it cant even be hard. Its probably just some range calculation where randomness decides how many it spawns with, and they just need to put the minimum at the same level as the required. -

Okay. Not an excuse for them so be so fucking ugly. Also, unfair. Cuz the animals have wallhacks and can literally see me through walls, or in this case, bushes. To me, as the player, those bushes are not see through because im playing the game. Meanwhile, the animals can see through the leaves just like they'd in real life. Also, yes, i know that in real life animals are good at hiding and they can see me from bushes while i cant see them, but we both know the AI's of the animals in this game is as crude as a bag of rocks. I understand your argument is 'realism' every single time i open my damn mouth, but its getting tiring. Especially because i've been into countless games in the past where i provided feedback *to make the game more fun*, and every single time a person like you came along who opposed whatever i said, every time i said anything, and everything, for seemingly no other reason than to be a contrarian. I apologize for my rudeness, but after years of having to deal with people like you, im tired of it. Very much so. Its not even personal, its based purely on how you reply, not that you're the one doing the replying specifically. Also also, there are countless things in this game that are unrealistic and yet you'd never apply your mindset against those and argue they should be realistic, so why the double standard? Why are you defending the game every opportunity i suggest something? I never understood this mindset of jumping to the defense of the thing you love, even when its not under attacking. I love vintage story. I just think it could be better. I dont like white knights who shoot down anything and everything for nonsensical reasons.
