  1. They added that in 1.14, and I remember getting really excited for it Ever since then I've always made a pit for my charcoal (not to be confused with a Charcoal Pit), here's what I have in my latest settlement It's 5 blocks by 4 blocks, and it goes three blocks deep (the glass is to show the 3 hidden layers). The reason it slides down in the way it does, is to simulate the unevenness of Charcoal. All the other coals do the same. Think of a steam engine, and how a fireman has to shovel coal from a tender.
  2. I hadn't heard that name in years, I thought it shut down long ago
  3. I'm under the impression that placing it is a permanent thing, much like how you can't move Static Translocators that you find in the wild.
  4. https://lophi.bandcamp.com/track/fall Got jumpscared at work, turns out all the 1.20 tracks are now on the soundtrack Without a doubt still one of the top three songs on the Vintage Story soundtrack. It fits the fall vibe so well
  5. In the text box, select a string of text you've typed out, and click the eye icon that's in the editor above the text box
  6. This is on the roadmap actually And I am excited for it
  7. If you have a cellar, I would cook them. Sealed meals tend to last longer in a cellar than their raw ingredients, especially if you put your crocks into a vessel and not on a shelf.
  8. Color-matching clay items and ground storage tweaks are the two things I'm most excited about Would this mean that if I, for example, put 4 of the same powder into ground storage, that it would just make (visually only) one larger pile? Or would it still be just 4 small piles, one in each corner? And, judging by the ore count increase, would I be able to just drop a bunch of powder into one space? One large pile of powder that's made up of, say, 12 of the same item?
  9. /gm c /gamemode creative also works, and I think it's /gm 1 as well. Replace c/creative with s/survival to return back to survival. I think Survival is also /gamemode 0 if you'd like to use the numbers instead.
  10. Practice. When 1.14 first introduced those buggers, I had a HARD time getting even a single hit on them. Hated those guys. Load up a creative world. Give yourself a weapon of choice, some healing/food, and a stack of Sawblade Locusts. You can also get your preferred shield/armor, whatever tier you wish to train on. Then, switch to survival mode, and place a locust. Work through that whole stack. If you die, just respawn, gather your stuff, and get back to attacking. It's grindy work, but isn't that the point of this game? Anyways, with the exception of that nasty bugger in the Resonate Archives hallway, I've not been hit by a single Sawblade Locust since version 1.15. I get excited finding these guys because they're easy Jonas Parts for me.
  11. I've always found it amusing when communities consider "the M-Word" a swear word. Always in a silly joke way, but it's still fun to play along
  12. It's on the same level with "Congratulations, you died", which shows on the same screen. A silly thing to bring a chuckle in a rough situation. Like gilt-kutable said, if you're irritated enough that these silly texts bother you, then it's time for a break.
  13. It is such a beautiful piece. I first heard it shortly after 1.20 came out, as it was late August in my world. not gonna lie, got a little emotional It's a wonderful piece, and I can not wait to see what Lo-Phi releases next
  14. By any chance, is it this one? https://youtu.be/d7qrZPggwQw It's a 1.20 release that hasn't made it to the BandCamp soundtrack yet (I can not wait for it to be there), although it plays in the Fall time .. I don't know of any other song that's heavy on the strings, sorry
  15. I think you did a wonderful job at recreating it Lupine Ridge is one of my favorite builds anyone's done in this game, so seeing it again was such a nice sight Also, your stained glass on that front fits very well with it Absolutely terrifyingly impressive. Is that the Vintage Story logo with some gears around it? And with vanilla glass colors??
  16. I like to see how fast I can fill a crate with Stick Layers I've gotten over a crate before, but not quite to two crates
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but by any chance did you take inspiration from Lupine Ridge in this build? I saw your screenshot and went "Wait a minute I've been there before" before realizing why it looked familiar to me
  18. If you put one (1) block of sunlight access up, you can build a cavehouse around it. In my iron mine, every 15 blocks from my starting point I take a coord measurement, and then dig straight down from the surface. I'm able to explore around it during the day with no music loss, and (almost) no drifters without lighting the place up. That still doesn't address losing your music because you went one block too deep, or you got just close enough to a rift, but I'm personally OK with those; It's a humble reminder that this game isn't just the farming cozy cottage game that I enjoy it for I was under the impression that that's how Vintage Story works as well. "Crafting" is a song I only hear when I'm doing a lot of clayforming, "The Setting Sun" plays at dusk, and "To Dawn, from a very rainy night" only plays when it's, heh when it's dawn, and had been raining through the night. And whenever I visit a place I haven't been in awhile, "Nostalgic" plays. Then there's your seasonal fillers like "Summer Day", and climate specific ones like "Arctic Winds" that only plays in the arctic. Now things are different when you mess with the frequency adjuster, in terms of "how often does the game check what you're doing to play a sound?". I don't get Building/Creating/Adventuring often, but I do get a lot of the fillers. However that may just be because I have a medium frequency for game music.
  19. Got dang my dude. Mr. Oak Tree, put some clothes on, your wood is showing
  20. That is beautiful Glasswork in this game is neither easy nor cheap, so being able to pull off a wonderful piece such as this is amazing
  21. There's a feature of the game in which holding down the ALT button inverts the mouse actions. There's a setting called "Immersive Mouse Mode" that will change the default mouse option when you open a menu, and it sounds like you have that option turned on. It's in Settings -> Interface -> Immersive Mouse Mode I personally play with this turned on, I've grown a fondness for how it operates with multiple inventories open whilst interacting with the world around me, but I do see how new players may not enjoy it.
  22. I don't know. .. you'd have to be pretty strong to lift that house
  23. Microbiomes are an important part of any world, so it's good that one would think about them I get what you mean tho. While peat is more efficient than firewood, Firewood's locally renewable, and I too would rather depend on that than having to trek long distances to find more peat.
  24. Tell that drifter I have a serving of Steel Falx for him. I'll even help him eat it
  25. This has been a pet peeve of mine as well, it's always a bit jarring ending it like that. Like you mentioned, it is a small thing, but it would be nice to see something at the end.
