  1. Oh No! Yeah It would have been the chiseled block for sure. I am glad you eventually figured it out. Isn't that the way though. I had also spent quite a long time building and rebuilding certain parts getting it to work. With new games and game mechanics it can be tedious to figure things out sometimes lol
  2. I had the same issue when troubleshooting what was going wrong. But I basically had to "reset" by waiting quite a long time, sometimes sleeping but breaking roof by making holes before the waiting and sleeping. Then try a new thing, wait (a while), check, then "reset" again. I saw you post in the mod discussion so think of it like testing your code That's what I did lol And again I am not expert I JUST got it working myself I was hoping someone else would jump in and provide more expertise as well haha
  3. It took me a few tries to get going. I think the problem is that you are coming from Minecraft. Not that Minecraft is a bad game (I love it still). But you have to change your way of thinking. These are new game mechanics we are dealing with in this game. The trick is to find a spawn where you can live and establish yourself immediately. So if you die you are at least close to home. My first night was in a trader trailer. My second night was in a 2x3 dirt hole. It took me 40 hours of play to get myself moved to a new location that was safer and had better soil. For comparison I have played about 12 (maybe even less) hrs in my new Minecraft world and I am ready to start simple farms automation and villager trading/breeding/farming (almost). This is very much a slow play game especially early game. Stick with it. Watch some Youtubers or Streamers to see what they are doing.
  4. I think one of the issues is that you have a bottom slab as a roof piece. So your first row in from the wall is a bottom slab, next row a top slab and then the next row is again a bottom slab. And I think even though you can use slabs (but only if they are top slabs) I think they MAY have to be at the same level to count as a roof. OR more specifically - 50% of the roof must be glass and specifically on the same level or a full block.
  5. F12 takes a screen shot. Ctrl+F12 takes a screenshot that removes the gui. And for me they are saved in Pictures/VintageStory directory
  6. @Sukotto82 Unfortunately I am not sure. For me it was clearly those bottom or top slabs on edges of the roof area. I guess was that all roof parts need to be on the same level. I made a copy in windows of my world in the saves folder and then opened that copy and set it to creative to try a couple things out. In between attempts I would make sure to break the roof, wait a few minutes and usually sleep to reset and then try a different config. Then again once I rebuilt the roof wait a couple minutes and then sleep if possible just to make sure to give it enough time to update at least a couple blocks inside. If you know the 7 x 7 rule did you also check the other conditions from the wiki page on greenhouses? https://wiki.vintagestory.at/index.php?title=Greenhouse Could you post a couple screenshots and maybe me or someone else could try and spot something?
  7. Yeah an introduction thread! I'll post what is pretty much on all my social medias: I am a Canadian web/software freelancer + gamer, geek, and empty-nest Mom (that means I am old lol) + pet Mom of two awesome cats. You can find me in most games and social media as cosycloud or cosycloudgaming. My IRL name is Heather and you will hear me third person that more than once (as in "damnit, Heather! What are you doing?") if you watch me stream or stumble across my YouTube
  8. For Twitch there is a category for people that are streaming at the moment. But in that link you can also click videos and clips and that will show videos and clips previously recorded. That should catch most people that stream it on Twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Vintage Story I think there is a channel in the Discord for videos and streams as well where YouTube or maybe even Facebook streamers might be found I would be happy to help out if I can think of anything other than the above. Or if I come across a streamer that is not list I can drop you a line for sure. Hey thanks!! It is ongoing - I was just saving some bandwidth last month so I guess I better get downloading and uploading. Also I am a new streamer so I have not very many watchers but there is commentary when people pop in to the channel and chat. Usually it is later in the stream. (Edit: ANd I just realized you can export directly from Twitch lol) Thank you very much for creating this list for everyone!!!
  9. I was just about to ask about streamers but I see you found my stream reposts on my YouTube (Thank you very much by the way!!!) . Is there room for streamers in this thread as well?
  10. I did some testing in a creative copy of my survival world because my greenhouse was just not working. I eventually narrowed it down the roof of the greenhouse. But I am going to include below some configurations that work and did not work. I marked with an arrow to say what is what because sometimes (at least with my eyes) the blocks play tricks and things look like a full block or slab So first the do not work #1 Red arrow spans clear full block glass Blue arrows are clear top slab glass Next does not work either Red arrow is clear top slab glass Green arrows are full clear glass block Blue arrows are clear top slab glass This one works Red arrow is clear top slab glass Blue arrows are clear full block glass And this one also works Red arrow is clear top slab glass Blue is clear bottom slab glass (but as part of wall technically) Hopefully this is helpful to someone else trying to get the greenhouse to work P.S. I DID NOT try those with quartz glass variants on the roof only clear.
