  1. I’m personally hoping some former Hytale devs join the VS team or start working on their own projects. Given what Tyron’s done, they have to be pretty good.
  2. I’m so glad I didn’t say “cancel Hytale” here; it would’ve aged like sushi.
  3. Yeah, it’s a bit too lean
  4. It sometimes feels like password management services employ an army of chimpanzees stationed at keyboards to generate passwords, somewhat similarly to how John GPT has been trapped in a room being forced to answer inane questions for multiple years.
  5. While looking for some lupines, I realized how varied the flowers are, even in one patch- you don't just get purple lupines, you also get some white and blue ones in the same patch. It then struck me that a flower breeding system would suit the game very well and give players a variety of long-term goals and challenges, whether it be to get X color with only X other colors, or something else. The only issue I can think of with this system is that while gene-specific flower seeds could be sold by traders, a gene system with the same depth as in ACNH would be hard to make use of in lore disabled worlds, as the random variation in genes would make wild flowers difficult to breed consistently and predictably. Maybe some kind of metal-age analysis kit would work, but that would feel anachronistic given that it'd be a gene analyzer in medieval times. Any rationalization for such a device is welcome. An alternative to Animal Crossing genes, where each set of genes gives a specific set of colors, could be having each individual gene make a variable color (eg. 555 = white, 554 = light yellow, 500 = deep red). This system also has its flaws, being that two dynamic colors may be needed for each type of breedable flower (stem color and flower color), and that many strange colors of flowers could be made if certain gene values were not disabled. There is an additional issue with this whole idea: how are flowers supposed to be bred? If they simply passively breed, this could significantly slow the game in certain situations. One Idea I have for solving this is only allowing breedable flowers to breed on farmland, which could also allow for the future implementation of crop breeding, although that system may need to be more complex. Alternatively, flower breeding could be tied to bees or the spawning of butterflies, although these could get out of hand quickly. Maybe a combination of the two would work best; I don't know. In summary, such a system would allow players to bring a personalized touch of color to their homes and landscapes (that sounded like a garden supply store ad). As an aside, I feel intensely uncomfortable with how many times I wrote "breed" in that.
  6. Toby Fox can keep working on Deltarune though; the music is pretty good.
  7. Apparently you can eat from ground stored bowls. If you’re considering buying this game, this is why you should. Looking for meaning in life? You found it. Tyron could sell the game gor twice- no, thrice as much and as long as he put a clip of someone eating from a ground stored bowl, the game would sell four times as well. Triple A games can eat their hearts out; this is the last game you will ever (need to) play. Cancel Silksong; cancel GTA6 and ES6; we don’t need them anymore. You have now been enlightened in the true meaning of printed silicon- this feature, in this game. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
  8. Rain world is an… interesting game.
  9. Thanks. I usually type up posts on mobile, and ironically that isn't visible on that version of the forum; too spoiler heavy I guess. All I have to say about the chapters is that it's a WILD ride.
  10. Because a) it’s faster to use the 3*3 tool with clay molding, and b) enrichment.
  11. Just wondering how everyone felt about ch3-4. As a completely unrelated thought, I have no clue how to do a spoiler box so… any help is appreciated.
  12. I don’t think that knapster is what you think it is, or if you’ve ever heard of it; if this assumption is true, please see this. IMO, by default it makes knapping more tedious, since out of the box it only places one voxel at a time at the same rate you do normally.
  13. Now it looks like actual ranges of hills, not just straight line smears. To use your analogy, it looks more like intentional paint strokes; it feels much more cohesive, and it’s easier to traverse (if only marginally so). You should try the prerelease yourself.
  14. Having played in a world on pre1 for a while, the terrain is way more improved than they let on here. Or I’m delusional. Or I didn’t clear my modlist correctly. Anyone’s guess.
  15. To be fair, without any source of gears or scrap, black dye and thus the ability to write are not attainable outside of signs. At least I think so.
  16. They’ve already fixed this in the .21 pre
  17. Agreed. Personally I just cast at some ungodly hour and then just sleep.
  18. They actually made fish meat twice as common as a drop.
  19. The reason you can’t grab higher temp ingots is because they’re fully or partially liquid. Even if you could grab them, I bet they’d still make them shatter: the contraction wouldn’t do wonders on any of the metals you can cast.
  20. I’m pretty sure bloomeries produce wrought iron, although I would like to see cast iron at some point, and something like the bessemer process would allow for a smooth transition between these stages.
  21. Messing around with this, I noticed that while the troughs mention individual animal entries for diet references, these no longer exist due to the HB cleanup. Maybe the diets could be added to the husbandry or trough pages? This information does already appear when hovering over a filled trough, but it seems like it would be more useful in the handbook.
  22. You can make vodka, only with breadfruit instead of potatoes.
  23. While the Idea is fine, I think it would be just as good if a screen fog or “haze” particles simply appeared in an enclosed area with a fire or torches (and maybe to a lesser extent candles or lanterns), simply to provide atmosphere, since having a fire in an enclosed space is critical for cold weather.
  24. But what if it isn’t about the utility, and more about establishing a cycle? You can’t Eat, Work, Eat, Sleep, repeat without sleeping! Besides, any growing Seraph needs 7-9 hours of sleep and a good diet (of raw onions).
