The top area of the RA actually isn't protected in vanilla, and nothing stops you from taking the doors up there.
They're just cosmetic though, and you'd need to be in creative mode to actually open/close them.
  2. ifoz's post in Rotten tapestry? was marked as the answer
The way it 'clears' is that the mold overlay on the ruin's wall is a layer below the tapestry's model, and looking at it up close or from certain directions clips the mold in front of the tapestry. It's a bug, though rotten tapestries are meant to stay rotten. The ones that 'clear' when you look at them actually aren't rotten tapestries, they are normal tapestries that just have a mold layer behind them that clips through at certain angles.
This also happens with wallpaper and tapestries if I remember right.

Basically rotten tapestries are randomly substituted for regular tapestries when they generate in. Sometimes even only one segment of a tapestry can be rotten, and the others will be fine to pick up. They're useless, and break apart when you try to pick them up. Basically a "better luck next time you find this ruin" mechanic.
In the case of the Holy tapestry here, the game would have generated this ruin with the Holy tapestry, but then run the odds to make part or whole of it rotten. It's just bad luck.

Hopefully next time you find this ruin you have better luck with the tapestry RNG. 😅
  3. ifoz's post in Rusty Gear glued to the ground was marked as the answer
This is normal yes, sometimes they can just be found on the ground around caves.
It doesn't indicate anything though, just a free gear.

You can break it to pick it up.
  4. ifoz's post in What the bloody heck is this ruin? (Maybe spoilers?) was marked as the answer
All over the place. This one is pretty nice for gathering aged ashlar, iirc it contains 52 full blocks worth. Don't ask how I even still remember that. 😆
  5. ifoz's post in Pottery decoration was marked as the answer
In the vanilla game, there is no way to make decorated pottery outside of making your own custom mod.
Traders and ruins will allow you to get certain special decorated storage vessels, but you cannot make your own.

However, in the upcoming 1.21 update, you can now colour all of your ceramic items. No custom patterns yet though.

Yeah, you can keep adding over time.
  7. ifoz's post in Elk mount Storage spots was marked as the answer
The three gear spots don't actually exist yet, and it appears this may be a 1.21 feature whose info was accidentally put into the handbook of a 1.20 version.
  8. ifoz's post in Can you dye Plain cloth? was marked as the answer
With blue and brown dyes, yes. You can just apply those straight to plain cloth.
For all the other colours, it needs to be mordanted first.

The only real reason you can use mordanted with blue and brown as well as plain is just in case you happened to have a stockpile of mordanted cloth, I suppose.
  9. ifoz's post in Terminus teleporter :D was marked as the answer
You fuel it with a temporal gear, and then simply stand on it after you have died to be teleported to the location of your death.
One gear per teleport is the cost, you just have to right click it with a temporal gear to fuel it.
  10. ifoz's post in What happened to marble/limestone ruins? was marked as the answer
I think you're talking about the "ancient" ruins, made from unique "ancient" blocks, not limestone or marble.
I haven't seen any since 1.18, though they were indeed in the vanilla game at least back then.
I have some screenshots of them from a completely un-modded world.

Building materials traders can still sell the "ancient" blocks though I think.

I don't know where they went!
I'll keep you posted if I suddenly start finding them again.

This screenshot is from back in 1.18. This is fully vanilla though.

I have experience in this, I frequently play on Windows with a friend who plays on Mac, and it works fine for us!
  12. ifoz's post in Do Dead Crops "Revive"? was marked as the answer
I don't think they do. I had a pumpkin patch that had died sitting there for in-game years and they never re-grew.
This doesn't mean you should not farm. Farming gives incredible amounts of food as well as precious, precious flax.
